Black Widow | beeswax prayer candle
Black Widow
++ Death and Rebirth • Shadow Work • Transformation • Boundaries • Sexual Power++
Background:
Inspired by the journey through my Saturn return, this candle was designed to bring healing light to the shadow side of initiation rites.
This totem carries medicine similar to many “dark mother” teachings (Kali, Lilith, Pele, Hecate) where death and rebirth, as well as creation and destruction go hand in hand.
Like many spider archetypes, black widow symbolizes weaving fate, destiny, and life itself. Yet her venom and reputation for consuming her mate make her a formidable force. Knowing this, black widow’s web is a both a home and a trap. ~ Who belongs in your energetic space?
Black widow appears as a sign of transformation, endings, break ups, or when one must reclaim their power after loss. AKA boundary work. ~ What cords need to be severed?
Solitude is another major theme with Black Widow. This totem supports independence and asks you to reclaim your energy from the dynamics that drain you in order to claim your sensual sovereignty (creative power).
Black is associated with the shadow, linking it to that which is repressed, taboo, and our hidden fears.Do not shy away from this shadow work. Transformation calls to you~
FAITH REQUIRED!!
Uses:
Transformation
Boundary Setting
Sexual + Creative Prowess
When to burn:
Burn to support intentions of creative solitude
To assist with transforming inner + outer power dynamics
Burn to bring light to a “dark night of the soul”initiation
Meditations + Affirmations
What needs to die so I can live fully?
I honor the cycles of creation and destruction within me.
I weave my destiny with power, sovereignty, and truth.
